The system had three major service areas impacted by the latest
updates. Core system, web applications and mail flow had pending
updates. The core system updates included a base-layout, which does not
seem to have caused any problems. The mail flow system had a minor, but
critical, update with the courier-authlib. Preliminary function tests
show mail to be fully functional, but do not hesitate to report odd
behaviour. Thirdly, the web applications, had a minor update on the
apache server, but a major update on the php scripting engine.
These updates have not yet been completed, as we're removing, or
updating, any old web-applications to reduce the number of impacted
applications with the migration to the new php 5. This does mean we
have a high potential for flaws during the removal of obsolete
applications; configurations hardcoded to application paths will fail,
so keep an eye on your galleries, webstats, webmail, or mysqladmin
applications.
