2005/10/26 While updating the system we also encountered an
update on mysql. From 4.0.x to 4.1.x. Following the howto documentation
all seemed to go well, except with one database where we used quite a
few foreign key constraints. Which prevented the data from being easily
restored...
So, perhaps the websites were unavailable for longer than necessary, as
the fix turned out to be pretty simple, but the upgrade's done and over
with. All databases should be back and available again. Although be
warned, there is still a pretty scary update pending on the webserver
and modules. The plan is to upgrade it tonight, depending on
time/availability.
2005/10/10 pillbox.3v8.net went down on friday,
october 7th, around 22:45 GMT. This was caused by a massive power
outage at the hosting company; too massive for their UPS to cope with.
But then things really got interesting...
Read on if you're interested in details, or to cut things short, mail
any strange behaviour you notice to so we can try and fix
it, thank you.
2005/09/23 All running galleries on pillbox were
migrated to the latest 1.x version available. The older 1.4.4 version
will be removed shortly. Config files and albums needed migrating, most
of which was done painlessly.
Please check your gallery/albums for any glitches and report them to , thank you.
2005/09/19 Updating an apache-2 package resulted in
only partial functionality available to the system during the morning.
The update has been rolled back and the web system seems to be back to
normal.
Please report any remaining 'odd behaviour' to , thank you.
